If I understand the problem correctly, you need to have the text look
normal at one point and then curve to the shape of the planet object. The
easiest thing to do is to create two objects of the text that will morph into
one or the other. For instance first save the original text object, and then
without moving the text to another layer bend it so that it fits the curve
correctly, and then when you load these objects into layout, set the second
object to 100 dissolve (so we won't see it in the scene) and make a metamorph
the original text object into the second one by using an envelope. If you need
to have it change along the course of the planet you could add more metamorph
targets, and if you have a lot of curves to follow, easily your best bet is to
use bones to bend your object through the course of the animation.
